The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum- Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF - FCA) has developed apprenticetrades.ca as a comprehensive inventory of information on apprenticeship training across Canada. The inventory provides an accessible, user-friendly and "one stop" location where current information can be obtained on apprenticeship programs and topics. This site is intended to direct inquiries about apprenticeship to the most authoritative source - without duplicating the efforts of other groups. Links provided here will direct you to the key stakeholders in apprenticeship programs including Provincial/Territorial governments, training institutions, unions, employers and others.
The CAF-FCA web site is tightly linked to the information and programs in each province/territory and to the Ministries that manage apprenticeship systems across Canada.
The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum - Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA) works with the apprenticeship community throughout Canada.
The Forum is broad-based and includes representatives of:
- Business
- Labour
- The Interprovincial/Territorial Alliance of Apprenticeship Board Chairs
- The Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship
- Educators
- Persons with disabilities
- Members of visible minorities
- Aboriginal persons
- Women
- Human Resources Development Canada.
The CAF - FCA has two primary objectives:
- Promote apprenticeship as an effective training and education system that contributes to the development of a skilled labour force
- Provide a mechanism for key stakeholders to support the apprenticeship delivery systems across Canada.
These objectives uniquely position the CAF - FCA as a clearinghouse for a network of information on apprenticeship training and related topics.
